Every man should have a code
What do I believe? What do I live by? How do I live in this society riddled with relativism?
I believe that a very simple yet profound solution can answer these questions.
It is an idea dating back to the knights of old.
A Codex Virilitatis, or the Code of Masculinity.
This refers to a set of tenets and principles that define what it means to be masculine and how to conduct oneself as a man.
Without a personal code, navigating life’s constant changes becomes much more difficult.
In today’s world, where fewer people seem to stand for anything, having a code to live by—along with faith in God to guide you—becomes essential.
Your code serves as a moral compass during life’s battles, whether you’re facing temptation, anger, or moments of crisis. It provides structure, offering rules of conduct to help you stay grounded and focused on the right path. Often the path less travelled.
Why have a Code?
A code provides a framework for integrity, purpose and direction.
A personal code establishes clear values and tenets that aid in decision making, helping us navigate life’s challenges with confidence and consistency.
Our code serves as a moral compass, ensuring that our actions align with our beliefs and fosters accountability to ourselves and others.
A code enforces discipline, resilience, and a sense of duty, encouraging us to uphold our responsibilities to protect those we care about and strive for personal improvement.
In a world that lacks clarity, having a code empowers us to lead with honour, maintain self-respect, and contribute positively to society.
The code we live by should align with the word of God and be the catalyst for change and perpetual improvement of our bodies, mind and spirit.
Whether you, brother, are a Christian or not you have to live by and for something.
I have far more respect for a man who believes in something with conviction (that I might not agree with) than a man that believes in nothing.
The Masculine Collective Codex Virilitatis.
I shall, with resolve, unwavering conviction and focus, pursue God’s truth.
With decency, I will treat others, and with decorum, I will conduct myself.
I shall wage war against tyranny, injustice and evil without cessation and without mercy.
It is my sacred duty to build my body and sharpen my mind to protect and defend the weak.
I will stand in the gap for my family and die with honour and without hesitation for them to survive.
I alone am responsible for my actions and cannot be sueded into anything.
Through voluntary suffering I will forge my body, mind and spirit into an unshakable force.
Remembering Memento Mori, I remain humble, focused and aware that life is fleeting and every action should reflect purpose, integrity, courage and honour.
Should I die in the line of my duty may Jesus Christ, the Son of God have mercy on me, a sinner.
Conclusion
I believe the above says enough. I will say one more thing to end of this post that sums it up perfectly.
Ave Christus Rex.
